Effective 20 October 2026.
Who we are
Software Combined invests in successful business-to-business technology companies. In this policy, "Software Combined", "we" and "us" mean Software Combined TopCo Pty Ltd, Software Combined Bidco Pty Ltd and Software Combined NLD Holdco B.V.
This policy explains how we handle your personal information when you visit our website, contact us or sign up for our news. It also covers business contacts, people we talk to about selling or investing in a business, and job applicants. Companies we invest in may have their own privacy policies.
What information do we collect?
When you send us an enquiry, we collect your first name, email address and message. You can also give us your last name. When you sign up for our news, we collect your first name, last name and email address.
If we contact you about a business opportunity, or you discuss one with us, we may collect your name, role, company details and business contact details. We may get this from you, from advisers, or from public sources and business information services. If you apply for a job, we collect the information you include in your application.
When you visit our website, our hosting and security services may receive technical information, such as your internet protocol (IP) address and browser details. If you do not give us the information we need for an enquiry or application, we may not be able to respond to it or consider it.
How do we use your information?
We use your information to answer enquiries, send news you ask for, contact you about relevant business opportunities, manage business relationships and consider job applications. We also use it to protect our website from spam and misuse, and to meet our legal obligations.
Where European data protection law applies, we rely on your consent, steps you ask us to take before entering a contract, our legitimate interests or a legal obligation. Our legitimate interests include responding to you and building relevant business relationships. We weigh those interests against your rights before we rely on them.
Who do we share information with?
We share information with people and service providers who need it for the purposes in this policy, or when the law requires it. These may include our group companies, hosting and email providers, business contact and recruitment services, professional advisers and, under confidentiality, parties to a possible sale, purchase or investment.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosts our website. The service that receives website enquiries runs on AWS in Sydney, Australia, and sends your enquiry to our team by email. Pages with our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to help stop spam and misuse. reCAPTCHA sends Google information about your device and browser, and when you submit a form we send Google your IP address to check the result. Google's privacy policy explains how Google uses this information.
Can your information be handled overseas?
We work from Australia and the Netherlands, and some of our service providers work in other countries. Depending on the service, your information may be handled in countries including Australia, the Netherlands, the United States and the Philippines.
When we send personal information overseas, we will take the steps that privacy law requires. Where European law requires a safeguard for a transfer, we will use a recognised one, such as contract terms approved by the European Commission.
How do we protect your information?
We will take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. We will limit access to people who need it for their work. No website, email or storage system is completely secure.
How long do we keep your information?
We will keep your information only for as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, or as the law requires. When we no longer need it, we will take reasonable steps to delete it or remove the details that identify you.
We may need to keep some information longer for an ongoing business relationship, a legal dispute or a record-keeping obligation. If you have a question about how long we keep your information, please contact us.
How do cookies and similar technologies work?
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Similar browser storage can also remember information, such as your privacy choice. Some cookies and storage are needed to run the website, remember your privacy choice and protect our forms from spam.
We will ask for your choice before we use optional analytics. You can accept or reject optional analytics and still browse the website. If you allow Google Analytics, it helps us understand how visitors use the site. Google may then receive information about your device and the pages you visit.
You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of each page. We remember your choice in your browser for up to 180 days. Your choice applies only to the website address and browser you are using.
If you withdraw consent, we will turn off optional analytics and remove the Google Analytics cookies that our website can access. This does not delete information Google has already received. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How can you stop hearing from us?
If you no longer want our news or other business messages, contact us using the details below and ask us to stop. If an email includes an unsubscribe link, you can use that too. We will keep a note of your request so we can respect it.
What rights do you have?
You can ask to see or correct your personal information. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may also ask us to delete it, limit how we use it or give you a copy in a portable format. You can object to some uses, including direct marketing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it.
We may need to check your identity before we act on a request. If we cannot do what you ask, we will explain why. We will respond within the time required by the law that applies. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did with your information before you withdrew it.
How can you contact us or make a complaint?
For a privacy question, request or complaint, email info@softwarecombined.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. You can also write to Software Combined at Suite 3, Level 8, 15 Castlereagh Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia. Our Netherlands office is at Weesperstraat 107-121, 1018 VN Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
We will look into your concern and let you know the outcome. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or another privacy regulator that covers you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or privacy obligations change. We will publish the updated policy on this page and show the date it takes effect.
